Description: With a view to popularising the traditional Latvian value of real rye bread, as well as the upkeep of ancient baking traditions, Lāči is organising its second "Bread Academy" for Latvian schools. During the competition, students will have the opportunity to become acquainted with the history of bread, take a tour of the Lāči Bakery, test their knowledge and demonstrate their charm. Winners of the 2009 "Bread Academy" will be awarded at the closing of this year's competition.
Agenda: 13.00 - 13.30 arrival, tasting, viewing works; 13.30 - 14.00 awards ceremony; 14.00 - cake eating; 14.30 -16.00 activities - presentations by laureates, a folklore group and soup eating.
